Katie Rowen joined Green & Chercover in 2007, after articling at another Toronto union-side labour firm. Her practice focuses on labour and employment law, human rights, criminal law, and civil litigation.

Katie graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she participated in the Intensive Program in Poverty Law at Parkdale Community Legal Services, and acted as a volunteer caseworker at Osgoode’s own CLASP clinic. Katie also spent two years as Co-Chair of the Osgoode Hall Law School Women’s Caucus. At Osgoode, Katie received the Kenneth Gibson Morden Memorial Prize in Evidence, and a McCarthy Tetrault National Award for Academic Achievment.

Prior to law school, Katie obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of King’s College, in Halifax, Nova Scotia and participated in a public policy internship at the Institute for Democracy in South Africa (Idasa), in Pretoria.

Currently, Katie sits on the Nominating Committee of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), and is also a member of the National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL), the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers.
