
Andrea Wobick
Andrea Wobick joined the firm in 2005 after articling with Green & Chercover and the Canadian Autoworkers Union. Her law practice focuses on labour and employment law, human rights, civil litigation and pensions.
Andrea attended law school at the University of Ottawa after completing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Victoria. During law school, she chaired Ottawa U.’s National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL) caucus, and worked at the University of Ottawa Legal Aid Clinic in the Women’s division. She was also an active participant in the Women’s Legal Education and Action fund (LEAF) and in the Canadian Lawyers’ Association for International Human Rights (CLAIHR).
Prior to joining Green & Chercover, Andrea worked for the Department of Justice at the Policy Centre for Victims Issues performing policy work and legislative reform. She then interned with the Kenya Human Rights Commission in Kenya, where she did research, writing and advocacy work. In 2007/2008, Andrea spent six months working for the Tanzania Legal and Human Rights Centre in Tanzania doing research, writing, editing, advocacy and training for legal aid clinic staff members.
Andrea currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence Against Women and Children (METRAC), and is a member of the Association of Human Rights Lawyers, Association of Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) and the Ontario Bar Association. |
